About Me
I believe the stories we tell about ourselves, our relationships, and the world can offer a path toward deep inner healing. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help clients discover that even the thoughts, emotions, and protective patterns that feel overwhelming are often trying to help in the only ways they know how. Together, we create space for compassion, curiosity, and lasting change.
I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), perfectionism, creative burnout, life transitions, and the effects of chronic stress. Whether you're caught in cycles of intrusive thoughts, self-doubt, people-pleasing, overthinking, or feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy can become a place where you begin to understand and befriend your inner world rather than fight against it.
My approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), nervous system support, and a deeply compassionate, unconditional space of safety to help clients understand not only why they feel the way they do, but how to cultivate greater safety, flexibility, and self-leadership. Because healing doesn't always happen through words alone, I also integrate expressive arts, somatic interventions, sand tray, and play therapy when they support the therapeutic process.
I believe therapy should feel like a relationship where every part of you is welcome. My goal is to create a warm, calm, and collaborative space where all--children, teens, and adults--feel safe enough to explore, heal, and grow at their own pace.

Thoughtful Care Within a Collaborative Clinical Model
At Steyn Integrative Counseling, our clinicians do not work in isolation. Our team is built around ongoing consultation, shared learning, and an integrative trauma-informed model of care.
Each clinician brings their own warmth, training, and careful attunement to their work with clients, while also being supported by the depth, experience, and clinical guidance of the broader Steyn team.
As a pre-licensed clinician, Michelle also receives close clinical supervision as she continues developing within our IFS-informed, trauma-focused approach.
